HENKŌ KYOKUSHIN KARATE IS BASED ON THE THREE MAIN PILLARS - KIHON / KATA / KUMITE:
1) 基本,/ 移動稽古, KIHON / GEIKO & IDŌ GEIKO = THE BASIC TECHNIQUES & CONCEPTS BOTH STATIC & IN MOTION (KICKING, PUNCHING, BLOCKING, ELLBOW STRIKES & KNEE STRIKES)

KATA IS A VERY EFFECTIVE FORM OF MIND AND BODY CONDITIONING AND CONNECTION.
3) 組手, KUMITE = "GRAPPLING HANDS" IS THE PART OF KARATE IN WHICH A PERSON TRAINS AGAINST AN TRAINING PARTNER USING THE VARIOUS TECHNIQUES PRACTICED IN KIHON.
IN KUMITE THE STUDENTS ARE LEARNING AND DEVELOPPING STRATEGIES TO APPLY THESE TECHNIQUES IN DIFFERENT FORMS OF KUMITE.
SPARRING AND COMPETITION FIGHTING ARE IMPORTANT PARTS OF KUMITE TO DEVELOP AND MASTER THE KYOKUSHIN KARATE FIGHTING SKILLS AND THEREFORE HENKO KYOKUSHIN KARATE PUTS EXTRA EMPHASIZE ON KUMITE.
